Tom's Race Report from Las Vegas w/ WERA

05/22/05 Las Vegas, NV

Not a good weekend. First session bike was cutting out. Ground on the battery loose. Next 2 sessions still not full power and sputtering once in a while. Take apart and check all the connectors. Go back out and mostly good, seems like it needs to be cleaned out. While waiting to go out, Norm (the mechanic for Freddie Spenser school) sees something he doesn't like on my chain. Turns out one of the rivets is loose on the master. After he grinds off the good rivet, the master slides off ! Finally get out for the last session and the bike seems good. Brian Land says I should put u4 in it, sometimes that will clean things out. Ran in the 1:25's all day Saturday with a shitty running bike.

Sunday, decided to do the last practice session. The bike runs great knock off a bunch of 124's easily, feel good about the day. First race race 5 Formula 1(unlimited GP). Tire warmers on beginning of race 4 start bike to warm up and gas starts leaking. The tank is cracked, day is done, pack up and go home.

Off to Infineon with AFM.
